A New Chapter for LogixPro

Bill Simpson was a Master Plumber, a Master Electrician, and later a college professor in Oshawa, Ontario, where he taught, among other subjects, PLC programming and ladder logic.

Recognizing the need for an effective teaching tool, Bill created the original PLC simulator to help his students learn ladder logic in a hands-on way. That simulator became what many of you know today as LogixPro.

After many years of helping students and instructors around the world, we are honoring Bill’s legacy by renaming the software to Professor Bill’s LadderLab. The new name reflects both the roots of the program and the spirit of the educator who created it.

We remain committed to keeping the simulator true to Bill’s vision while also preparing an updated release in the near future.

Thank you for your continued support as we carry forward the work and memory of Professor Bill.

LogixPro is Becoming Professor Bill’s LadderLab – FAQ

Why is the name changing?
The software originally known as LogixPro was created by Professor Bill Simpson, a Master Plumber, Master Electrician, and college professor in Oshawa, Ontario. To better reflect his legacy and ensure the name is uniquely ours, we are renaming the simulator to Professor Bill’s LadderLab.

What does this mean for current users?
All existing LogixPro licenses and key cards will continue to work. You don’t need to purchase new keys or reinstall your software immediately. The name change is part of a branding update, not a change to your license.

Will the simulator itself change?
In the near future, we’ll be releasing an updated version under the new name. Our goal is to keep the simulator true to Professor Bill’s original vision while adding refinements and improvements where possible.

Do I need to do anything right now?
No. You can continue using your current version of LogixPro without interruption. When the updated release of Professor Bill’s LadderLab is available, we’ll provide clear instructions for upgrading.
